"Our Architect, Carlos Daniel Franco, has provided his professional services in the reformation and rebuild of our family Finca in Benissa. We wanted to keep as many of the original features of our very old finca, as possible. The work involved rebuilding and restoring bread and smoking ovens, reproofing parts of the house that were once just goat yards and producing a project for an additional new bedroom and modern kitchen.

We were impressed with his Project Management skills, and he personally supervised some very difficult structural repair work, the creation of floors and the hiding of cables and pipes to be keeping and sympathetic with  an Old Spanish Finca style.

He designed a lot of newer features in the house himself and without his expertise, I am convinced that our water, gas and electrical installation work would not have been a success. We have known Carlos for 18 months and during this period he has proved to be not only meticulous in his approach to the work, but willing to get involved with problems and problem solving. We particularly like his hands on approach.

My wife and I have used other Architects in the past, but Carlos is as far the most reliable. He is a likeable person, he is willing to please and we find his attitude is so refreshing and reassuring here in Spain. Not surprisingly he has earned a lot of respect both with his workers and with the Council here in Benissa. We have no hesitation or reservations in recommending him."

We met Carlos and Ana Laura in November 2007 through a recommendation. We were looking for architects to help us restore our 3 storey Spanish townhouse, which was badly in need of reformation throughout including fixing a very bad case of damp. We had been badly let down by another building professional and we were looking for architects who could do a good job for us and ones that we could trust.

We contacted the Francos and they agreed to look at the house and give us a without obligation quotation for the works and some initial advice. Once they had gone to the house, they sent us a very detailed and thorough description of what were the serious structural problems, which needed attention, information regarding the rewiring of the house, and getting rid of a serious problem with damp. They also gave us advice regarding the “make up”, or ideas on the design for the house, such as grilles for the window, types of tiling etc. This was all sent to us in perfect English, which we greatly appreciated, since our Spanish will not stretch as far as discussing technical building work. All our queries were answered and after we discussed matters and approved the quotation, work commenced in January 2008.

Through the following seven months, Ana Laura sent us photos from Spain to England each week via email showing the various stages of the building work and an update on what had been done that week. The Francos managed everything for us: design, completing the necessary building permits with the town hall, paying the builders etc.

Through this period of 7 months, we gradually saw the improvements enfold and when we finally saw the house completely finished in September 2008, we were truly amazed at how wonderful the house looked. We are completely satisfied with the service that the Francos provided and rate their services highly. We were happy to give the Francos total discretion regarding the project of our house, since we felt able to trust their taste and judgment and were not disappointed.

we are so happy with our new look apartment that we have booked to come for 7 weeks in the autumn instead of our usual 4!

We handed over our money and put our faith and trust in you and were well rewarded. You did what we asked for, and added little touches we had not expected.

We appreciated the reports and emailed photographs you sent, and were pleased to be spared the traumas of trying to organise the work ourselves.  We knew that would be difficult and are glad that, by seeing the report about you in the local newspaper, we were able to let someone else take responsibility.  This we know you did because our Concierge tells us that you came all the time to supervise the work and ensure that it was carried out correctly.
